Kim Jong Nam wouldn't be killed if he had remained in Singapore.

He should remain in SG for the sake of security even though SG is a boring place.  He came to SG in 2012 and left in 2014.  This was the information I gathered from the internet.

    Why did the Great Kim wanna kill his own half-brother?

    There is a rumour that USA & China have reached a consensus to get rid of Kim and reinstalled his half-brother to the throne to rule North Korea. Therefore, the Great Kim has to kill his half-brother to thwart the USA-China assassination plan. The Great Kim believes that USA-China won't kill him so fast until a likely successor is found because a chaotic North Korea is not good for the region.
