Singapore didn't invite Taiwan defence minister to the Singapore Airshow 2018 after taking cognizant of the simmering anti-Singapore sentiment in China.

SG is showing a goodwill gesture to China by downgrading the SG-Taiwan diplomatic relationship because SG doesn't want to be ostracized in ASEAN by offending China especially when Philippines is so proactive in boosting its political and economic powers in ASEAN.
