This is really bad news for mankind because the new variant appears to obviate antibody drugs. This means the doctors will have more difficulties in treating covid patients and more sick people will end up in hospitals which will cripple the national healthcare systems in the world.
Let's hope that the next mutation won't develop a new variant that can evade our immunity. All the existing vaccines, whether they're made by inactive virus or mRNA, are used to "trick" our bodies to develop covid immunities and we'll be in trouble if a new variant can render our vaccines ineffective.
