According to this Iranian professor, the Iran war won't end so soon because Iran won't be cowered into any form of submission.  Instead, Iran will escalate the war when the US does it.

As long as the supreme leader doesn't agree to negotiate or doesn't back down, the Iran war will continue because the Iranian president doesn't have any executive power to dictate the outcome since the presidency is just a titular position.
