Sinovac shot gives no shield for Omicron? - Part 5

WHO has just stated that T-cell response will protect against severe illness, hospitalization and death.

“What we have seen from right now is what is going to protect against severe [illness], hospitalisation and death is your T-cell response. The neutralisation antibodies go down and it’s the T-cells. And what we know from other vaccines is they do prevent it, whether it’s the Sinovac or Sinopharm [vaccine].”

We had stated previously in Part 3 that T-cell was more important than antibodies.  We've been proven right again!

WHO has just brushed aside IHU as a threat despite the variant having 46 mutations that are more than the existing omicron (32 mutations).  Let's take a look at the abstract description.

IHU contains the infectious elements of omicron but it is not deemed as a threat whereas omicron is classified as a variant of concern (VOC).  VOC is a level 2 virus alert under WHO but IHU is not even classified as a variant of interest (level 1 virus alert) despite having more mutations than omicron.

What is WHO doing? *Puzzled*

France has discovered a new variant (IHU) that is more infectious and stronger than omicron.  It has detected 12 such cases in France and this variant has more mutations than omicron.

When we have the "Live with covid" policy, we are giving the virus the time and right host to adapt and mutate.  God bless us all!
