Why are covid deaths concentrated in the west now?

From the WHO covid deaths chart, we could see that the US comprised about 81% of the global covid deaths.  In totality, the US and EU made up majority of the global covid deaths.

Why is this happening when the west has the most advanced medical facilities and drugs for covid treatments?
