The semiconductor industry is involved in the trade war now. Micron Tech went belly up under the helm of Ho Ching and was sold off at a huge loss before Ho Ching went to become Chartered Semiconductor CEO. Chartered Semiconductor also faced the same fate under Ho Ching.
Thereafter, Micron Tech was brought alive under the new management. However, it is facing a dire situation now because of the trade war as China's market constitutes 50% of its sales. Without China, Micron Tech will go belly up again.
