Scientists are really worried about 501v2 virus because it is significantly different. It might render the existing vaccines ineffective.

If the existing vaccines cannot stop the 501v2 virus, then we're back to square one again and we'll need to wait for many months for new vaccines to be developed. I just hope that the covid virus won't mutate so fast or else we will never catch up with the mutations.
