Omg! Another covid variant is detected!

This is the 3rd variant being detected in a very short span of time. This brazil variant is different from the UK and South African variants.

It looks like the covid virus is mutating faster now.

Unknown said...: All viruses are mutating every single second. There should be over a million variants of covid19 by now. The question is whether any of them are more deadly. In terms of evolution, viruses usually evolve to become more infectious but less deadly. Becoz the objective is to perpetuate the species & not to kill the hosts which will be self-defeating in the continuation of the virus species. These recent 3 highlighted variants of covid are unlikely to be any deadlier than the first few variants.; January 11, 2021 at 2:28 PM

The recent highly infectious variants will overwhelm the hospitals and this will cripple the healthcare systems even though the variants are not deadlier than their predecessors. The recent 3 variants only share the same 501Y spike protein and the other genome makeups are completely different. That's why the scientists are classifying them as different viruses from the original ones and are worried about the existing vaccines' efficacies.; January 11, 2021 at 4:21 PM
