Market analysis for US stock market - Dow Jones Industrial Average

The chart dated 01/10/10 above indicates that the average trading volumes have been declining which doesn't bode well for the market as lesser investors are buying US stocks.  In other words, investors have been pulling funds out of the market and we can see that from the rises in gold prices.  Is this a sustainable rally? You decide for yourself as many other stock markets are experiencing this phenomenon.
