Hot news: The Brazil covid variant could reinfect ex-covid patient.

https://virological.org/t/spike-e484k-mutation-in-the-first-sars-cov-2-reinfection-case-confirmed-in-brazil-2020/584

A Brazilian was reinfected with covid containing the E484K spike protein mutation in less than 6 months.

This is bad news for mankind because the patient's immunity cannot recognize the mutated E484K spike protein.

It seems that our existing vaccines are produced to recognize the N502Y spike protein but not the E484K spike protein.

Let's wait for scientists to confirm this.

If this Brazil variant permeates throughout the world, all the economic growth expectations will be dashed as there won't be enough time to produce the new vaccines in 2021 since scientific studies and tests take many months.

This is the primary reason we're monitoring the covid situation because the repercussions cannot be ignored.

The highlight of my posting is not to spread fear but to pinpoint 2 things from this article.

Either this Brazilian has lost his immunity in less than 6 months or his immunity cannot recognize the E484k mutation. The empirical evidence has shown that our natural immunity will only last 4-6 months and this Brazilian was reinfected in less than 6 months.

If his immunity cannot recognize E484K mutation, it means the existing vaccines also cannot protect against the Brazil covid since they're being produced based on the earlier virus genome.

We'll have to wait for the scientists to confirm the outcome.

The scientists have confirmed that the existing vaccines still can protect against the mutated covid viruses. Therefore, the Brazilian woman must have lost her immunity in about 5 months.
