The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, which tracks rates to ship dry commodities, fell to its lowest in three weeks on Tuesday as slower iron ore sales to China and fleet growth hit sentiment. Brokers said cargo volume was being driven by the smaller panamax bulkers especially on thermal coal trades to Asia. The overall index fell 0.85 per cent or 12 points to 1,400 points, down for a seventh straight day.
