Malaysian's suspension of its ECRL will have serious repercussion to its Melaka Gateway.

Malaysia has decided to suspend its ECRL due to its high cost which will affect the success of the Melaka Gateway.  The Melaka Gateway will become a white elephant since it has lost its strategic importance because it is no longer connected to the Kuantan port.  China wanted to use the Melaka Gateway (MG) to bypass Singapore's port but MG would lose its value when it was no longer connected to the Kuantan port.

This is definitely good news for Singapore and we need to thank Malaysia for this.
