US GDP grew 3.3% in Q4 2023 and 2.5% for the year 2023.

Let's break up the GDP Q4 2023 for a simple analysis.

Q4GDP Growth = G + I + C + Net Exports (NE)

Q4GDP Growth (3.3) = 0.56 (G)+0.38 (I)+1.91 (C)+0.43 (NE) = 3.28(3.3)

Q3GDP Growth (4.9) = 0.79 (G)+1.47 (I)+2.69 (C)+-0.08 (NE) = 4.87(4.9)

We can see that consumption (C) is the major contributor to the US GDP growth in Q4 2023.  However, 3 of Q4 GDP components had performed worse than Q3 GDP growth except for net exports.

The 2023 full year GDP growth: 2.5%
